The goals of the Division of Redevelopment and Housing are to enhance the viability of the community by increasing, improving and preserving the supply of decent affordable housing, to revitalize neighborhoods, expand economic opportunities, and provide improved community facilities and services principally for low and moderate-income persons. These goals help remove barriers to growth, provide accountability for taxpayer dollars, and ensure results for programs aimed at making a difference in peoples' lives.

The Division is responsible for the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of funding requests that may utilize any of the following sources:

  • Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds
  • HOME funds
  • CalHome funds
  • Redevelopment Agency set-aside/tax increment funds
  • Various Federal or State grants that may be awarded from time to time
